Michael Eadicicco - Improving security and emergency planning
Michael J. Eadicicco is the President & principal of Gold Eagle Security Consulting an individual consultancy in Manalapan, New Jersey USA. A former 37-year career employee with the Port Authority of NY & NJ, he has an extensive background in transportation facilities operations, emergency management & counter-terrorism security. He has held executive positions at the George Washington Bridge, Lincoln Tunnel & Port Authority Bus Terminal in NYC and was appointed to the be the first General Manager of Security for the authority’s Tunnels, Bridges & Terminals Department following the attacks on the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001. In that capacity he was responsible for all non-law enforcement issues associated with security including developing the departments first comprehensive security business plan, risk & vulnerability analysis, evaluating existing & emerging technologies & managing the departments comprehensive security challenges in concert with the Port Authority Police, local, state agencies in NJ, NY & federal law enforcement agencies including the Department of Homeland Security & NYPD. In 2007, he was awarded the Port Authority’s prestigious Robert F. Wagner Award, established to recognize distinguished public service. Mike is a graduate of St. Peters College & holds a B.S. in Business Management.

Jeremy Evans - Improving road network management
Jeremy Evans is the Head of Technology Delivery Group Directorate of Traffic Operations, Transport for London. From 2001 to 2008, Jeremy Evans worked in the Congestion Charging Division of Transport for London. He was responsible for the traffic management measures, introduced to support the Central London Congestion Charging Scheme that went live on 17 February 2003. He was also responsible for the implementation of the enforcement infrastructure. He continued with this work for the Western Extension to the Central London Scheme that went live on 19 February 2007. He was also responsible for trials of newer technologies that can be applied in the future potential development of road user charging in London and elsewhere, using GNSS (satellite positioning), GSM (mobile phone) or DSRC (tag and beacon). The results of these trials have been published on the TfL web site. Since November 2008, he has worked in the Traffic Operations Directorate as Head of the Technology Delivery Group. He manages a portfolio of projects that seek to optimise technology developments, achieving cost savings, or replacing obsolete technologies. Jeremy is currently Vice Chair of ITS (UK).

Neil Frost - Improving public transport operations - part II: passengers
Neil Frost is a Director at SAHA International (Pty) Ltd. He has served on the board of numerous companies and has more than 20 years management and IT experience, mostly in transponder and smartcard technology. Neil has been involved in a number of projects that include Strategic Information Systems Plans, User specification preparation, the compiling of feasibility studies and ensuring interoperability for multiple applications. Participated in activities in The South African Society for Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS SA) and has also participated in discussions with the High Speed Train Transaction Advisors on standards to be adopted and the overall requirements of such systems. One of the most challenging areas is multiple application interoperability - he is currently responsible for resolving these issues for a number of projects. Neil is currently convenor of the SABS SC 71H dealing with intelligent transport system standards and is the head of the South African delegation to ISO/TC 204 and the South African expert to TC 204 Work Group 8 dealing with Public Transport. He further has been requested by TC 204 WG 8 to lead the preparation on a “White Paper” dealing with the integration of Payment Systems with Integrated Fare Management. This paper is to form the discussions at the following meetings and assist with determining the effects of converging technologies. Neil has attended courses on Public Private Partnerships (PPP’s) hosted amongst others by the PPP Unit of the Treasury. He holds a BSc degree and a MBL from UNISA.

Gary Liddle - Australian ITS capability in road safety and network management
Gary was the Program Manager for the Austroads Technology Program from 2004 to 2006. During that time he played a crucial role in developing the structure and format of Austroads new suite of guides and the early stages of their production. He was also instrumental in the management of the technical research arrangements between Austroads and ARRB Group for the maintenance of technical expertise in the areas of pavements, surfacings, asset management and road safety engineering. Gary is the Chairman of the Australian Chapter of the Road Engineering Association of Asia and Australasia (REAAA) and a member of the REAAA Governing Council. He is also a Council member and Deputy Chair of Austroads, the Australasian organisation of road authorities. Gary was appointed as a Board Member of the Australian Road Research Board in 2009. He has also recently been appointed as a Board Member of the Southern & Eastern Integrated Transport Authority. Gary has a Bachelor of Civil Engineering and a Graduate Diploma in Management. Gary joined the Country Roads Board (VicRoads predecessor) in 1971. Prior to his current role, he held various positions including Deputy Chief Executive, Director Major Projects, General Manager Road System Management and Project Manager for the Eastern Freeway and the Ballarat Bypass. He also worked with the United Kingdom Highways Agency for a short period in late 1999.Gary Liddle was appointed as VicRoads Chief Executive in March 2007. During the last year he has overseen an organisational restructure to enable VicRoads to more effectively manage the key challenges of congestion, road safety, integrated asset management, customer service, data security and integrity and capability.

Michael Noblett - Improving road and rail safety
Michael Noblett is Vice President, Global Automotive Initiatives for Connexis. Mr. Noblett is internationally recognized as an expert in automotive electronics, wireless communications and is a leader in the Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) industry, having helped pioneer multinational activities to advance vehicle technology. He is responsible for advancing business development, automotive industry partnerships, and international standards to support Connexis initiatives. He spent nearly 20 years with General Motors Corporation and its subsidiary OnStar and he served as Program Manager for the Automotive Multimedia Interface Collaboration (AMI-C). Mr. Noblett is Chair of ISO/TC 204, the international standards committee for ITS, Chair of the Automotive, Telecommunications & Consumer Electronics Forum of ITS America, and was General Chair for the 15th Annual World Congress on ITS held in New York City 2008.

Henry O'Clery - Reducing environmental impacts
Henry is Executive Director of Future Climate Australia, a not-for-profit that provides climate change mitigation and adaptation services for the Transport and Food sectors. He holds a Masters Degree in Engineering and has worked as a consulting engineer in the USA, Europe, the Middle East and Australia. Henry has worked in the transport and environment field since 1992, and founded ‘Greenfleet Australia’, which provided the first biological carbon offset program for motorists. He is convener of the ‘LEV Automotive Partnership’ with RACV, EPA (Vic) and industry stakeholders – see www.greenwheels.com.au.

Christopher Queree - Improving public transport operation - vehicles & network
Dr Christopher Querée has over thirty years experience in transport information services consulting. Prior to becoming an independent consultant, he has worked for the UK rail industry, and has been a consultant at TPA, MVA and Detica, working on passenger transport and highway information and payment systems in the UK and Europe. This complements current input to European Commission rail legislative programmes, and to standards bodies in transport and information services. His professional activities include chairmanship of ITS UK’s passenger information interest group, and he is the UK representative on ISO TC204 WG8.

T. Russell Shields - Facilitating a more efficient freight industry - enforcing heavy vehicle regulations
T. Russell Shields is founder and Chair of Ygomi LLC. Mr. Shields has a 40-year track record of creating and developing businesses that define new industries, including software engineering, business services, wireless communications, and intelligent transportation systems (ITS). In 2008, he received the Distinguished Alumni Award for Entrepreneurship from the University of Chicago’s Booth School of Business. Mr. Shields is a Board Member of the ITS World Congress, a former Officer and founding Board Member of the Intelligent Transportation Society of America (ITS America), former chair of the Communications Committee of the Transportation Research Board (National Research Council), and Convener of the Working Group developing international standards for wireless communications for ITS (ISO/TC204/WG16). He received the 1998 SAEāDelco Electronics Intelligent Transportation Systems Award for distinguished service to the ITS industry, was named an SAE Fellow in 2007, and was inducted into the inaugural class of ITS America’s ITS Hall of Fame in 2008. Mr. Shields holds a BA in mathematics from Wichita State University and two degrees (an MA in history and an MBA) from the University of Chicago.

Professor Goran Roos- Facilitating a more efficient freight industry - supply chain
Göran Roos holds positions at several academic institutions around the world and he is the author and co-author of over one hundred publications many of which have been recognised with awards. Göran is a major contributor to the areas of intellectual capital, strategy, innovation management and industrial policy. Göran has founded or co-founded 16 companies and is presently Managing Director if ICS Ltd. in London. Göran was named one of the 13 most influential thinkers for the 21st Century by the Spanish business journal “Direccion y Progreso”.
