ITS underpins one of Victoria’s biggest ever road improvement projects, the $1.39 billion M1 upgrade along one the state’s busiest economic routes. By late 2010 more than 1100 ITS devices that will include 61 ramp meters and 18 kilometres of overhead lane management, that will be installed along the 75 kilometre stretch of the Monash and West Gate freeways, which when completed, will be the biggest ITS system deployed on one project in Australia.
